Do you have an older person in your life that you love and appreciate?
National Senior Citizens Day, August 21, is the day to let them know how much you care. It is a day that provides us all an opportunity to recognize senior citizens’ accomplishments. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed this holiday to raise awareness about senior citizens’ issues and their quality of life.
Today, seniors are still active in their communities and continue to have a strong presence in the workforce. For all they do and have achieved for the good of their communities, senior citizens deserve our thanks!
To especially honor our Senior Citizens this year, Comforts of Home, in conjunction with Vernele’s Bakery & Cafe and The Community Assistance Center, will spotlight Good Senior Citizen stories and pictures shared with us on our blogs and social media pages. We want to acknowledge the contributions made by our local senior citizens.
If you have a Senior Citizen in your life that you respect, love, and want to acknowledge for their contributions to our community and families, please download our Good Senior Citizen Flyer. Share your story and a photo with us via email; goodsenior@yourcomfortsofhome.com or message us on our Facebook page. We look forward to learning about how our Senior Citizens have made a difference in your life and sharing your stories with our community.
All participants will receive an invitation to attend our Senior Citizens Day Grab & Go breakfast hosted at Vernele’s Bakery & Cafe on Saturday, August 21st.
