About Our Founder, Jamie D. Meche CCC-SLP
Jamie Meche has an extensive history working in the health care industry. Having received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, she continued her education in the field of Speech Language Pathology and obtained her Master of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is also a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and holds a license from the Louisiana Speech Language and Hearing Association as well as the Texas Speech Language and Hearing Association.
Jamie has served in a variety of settings. She’s helped patients in schools, medical centers, in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation clinics, home health care settings and skilled nursing facilities. Most of her work career focused on skilled nursing facilities working with physicians, nurses, therapist, patients and their families to ensure continuity of care. As a speech-language pathologist, Jamie played an integral role in the screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of persons with dementia. She has extensive knowledge in managing the cognitive, communication, and swallowing deficits associated with dementia and helped individuals with dementia function at the highest level of independence throughout the underlying disease course. Jamie holds strong beliefs that the ultimate goal of any intervention and care is to preserve the person’s quality of life for as long as possible. While working in these settings, she had the opportunity to work with many geriatric patients. That’s how she discovered her passion for working with older adults.
She founded Comforts of Home in 2014 to compassionately serve older adults and their families. Jamie wants her clients to know that Comforts of Home is committed to their satisfaction and to building open line of communication and trust. We are available 24/7 to provide the highest quality in-home senior care in Conroe, TX.
